These wee guys sometimes get a bad press since nuts are pretty high in fat. But, if you think nuts are too high in fat to be part of a healthy diet you’d be wrong! Nuts are extremely healthy, especially certain kinds of nuts including walnuts, almonds and brazil nuts.

Most of the fat in nuts is unsaturated fat, not saturated fat. Beware though if you are eating commercially produced, packaged nuts, as they can be roasted in various high-saturated fat oils.

Nuts are cholesterol-free and they provide good sources of protein, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, vitamin E and selenium.
