In Season : Cabbage
Supplying the same protective and anti-aging antioxidants as blueberries, red cabbage makes a cost-effective and seasonal alternative. Both the red and green varieties supply anti-cancer compounds that are activated when the leaves are chopped or shred. The outer leaves tend to be richest in nutrients so make sure you don't discard them.


Winter Slaw (Serves 1-2)


Thinly slice one carrot, ½ an apple and a good chunk of red cabbage. Add a handful of cooked prawns, ½ a small diced and de-seeded red chilli and 1 tablespoon of low fat plain yogurt or any good quality dressing. Finish with a sprinkle of Munchy Seeds Chilli mix. This recipe works well as a light lunch or as an accompaniment to any fish or seafood meal.
