Drink Green Tea & Exercise to Optimise Weight Loss
A recent study suggests that antioxidants known as catechins in green tea may help improve weight loss when combined with physical activity. The study followed the progress of a hundred healthy adults who were randomly assigned to drink a tea containing 625mg of catechins or a control drink containing the same amount of caffeine. The volunteers also agreed to do 3 hours of moderate-intensity exercise and to attend at least 3 supervised exercise sessions each week.  At the end of the study, those participants in the catechin group had lost more weight and had reduced levels of abdominal fat more than the control group. Although the scientists concluded that further research is warranted to clarify the mechanisms responsible replacing your regular cuppa with a green tea may help you reach that ideal weight. If you've tried green tea before but struggled with the flavour then fear not because you can still reap many of its benefits with our great tasting spiced variety.
